The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has established the diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan on January 19, 1992. The British Embassy in Kazakhstan was opened in October, 1992 and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan was opened in February, 1996. Since that time, Mr. Nurtay Abykaev (February 1996 - September 1996), Mr. Kanat Saudabayev (November 1996 - October 1999), Dr. Adil Akhmetov (2000 - 2001), Mr. Erlan A. Idrissov (2002 - 2007) were Ambassadors of Kazakhstan in the UK. HE Mr Kairat Abusseitov is a present Ambassador of Kazakhstan in the UK. The Embassy also represents Kazakhstan in Ireland and Sweden.

The Embassy is open from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. The Consular/Visa section is open: 9:00 - 12:00 Monday to Friday for visa and legalization matters and 9:00 - 12:00 on Wednesdays for civil matters of Kazakhstan nationals.
