Kazakhstan Celebrity Recital in London
Saturday 20 June at 7.30pm sees a concert performance at the prestigious Cadogan Hall in Sloane Terrace London by two of the most celebrated of Kazakhstan’s classical musicians, Aiman Musakhodzhayeva, violin and Eleonora Bekova, piano.
Aiman Musakhodzhayeva is an increasingly frequent presence on the major stages of Europe, laureate of the Paganini, Sibelius and Tchaikovsky Competitions, founder of the Kazakhstan National Academy of Music and the Kazakhstan State Chamber Orchestra and UNESCO “Artist for Peace”. Ms. Musakhodzhayeva holds the titles: People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Academician of the International Academy of the Arts. In 2000 she was endowed a State Premium for her success in the field of culture and in 2002 was awarded the prize for great achievements in the sphere of art and music.
Eleonora Bekova is a renowned concert pianist who has built her reputation as the pianist of the legendary Bekova Piano Trio who were the first Kazakh artists to appear in the West. With some 30 CD recordings on major labels and a career encompassing chamber, concerto and collaborations with major singers and soloists, Ms Bekova has appeared in many of the most important classical music venues worldwide. In recent years as a Kazakh-born artist living in London, she has been an energetic and devoted supporter of British-Kazakh cultural relationships and has founded the annual Kazakh Gala Concert to mark Kazakhstan’s independence anniversary, the sixth edition of which will once again feature the world famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing with Kazakh artists at the Cadogan Hall on 7 December 2009.
The programme for the recital features three popular classics; Brahms, violin sonata number 3 in D minor, opus no. 108, Waxman, Carmen Fantasie and the Franck Violin Sonata in A major in addition to the world premier performance of a work written by the Kazakh composer, Brusilovsky.
This attractive and popular programme is designed to appeal to a wide audience including delegates staying on from the Kazakhstan Growth Forum being held in London from 17 to 19 June immediately prior to the Kazakhstan Celebrity Recital.
